Services we offer:
- mass participation transponder timing and result production,
- special format event result production,
- video finish facility (like photo finish but with a greater range), result queries
Levels of service:
Event organisers can choose the level of service they require depending on the complexity
of their event. The 3 main factors are (a) equipment, (b) number and type of transponders
used, and (c) complexity of results
- (a) Equipment required depends on the type and size of event. For example, an event
that requires no monitoring of the start, and can handle a single lane of finishers
would be the cheapest (one timing box and 2 antennae). A cycling event with a 3-lane
wide finish line, interim check points and a need to monitor the start would be
the most expensive.
- (b) There are effectively just 2 types of transponders – personal transponders which
people keep and re-use whenever they take part in an event, and temporary transponders
which are issued just for the day of the event, and returned afterwards. Events
timed with permanent chips only are the cheapest because there is no cost of distributing
and collecting returned chips. At the other end of the scale are events timed only
with temporary chips (usually recommended for events where most people do not own
a personal chip)
- (c) At the simple end of the scale, there are events where everybody starts in one
group at a fixed time, no interim checking is required, and their time is taken
when their transponder crosses the finish line. A more complex event could be one
where participants start at different times, and complete laps of a circuit in times
over a few stages
